Even in the most genteel of locations, violent people willing to commit violent crime walk amongst us.
Pentagon City is a very upscale
mall fashion center in well-heeled Arlington, VA. It’s well lit, secure and full of high-end shops, kiosks and department stores.
Apparently, a woman in line at Victoria’s Secret got cut in front of by two other women and confronted the line-cutters. The two calmly paid for their purchases and proceeded to turn around and lay a beating on the complaintant.
A couple takeaways:
- You might not be a savage. It doesn’t matter. You will interact with them.
- Confronting people may result in consequences, in this case, a moderate-to-severe beat-down. Pick your battles. Being “right” doesn’t mean you win.
- Learn to defend yourself. You don’t have to fight back offensively to hold off an attacker defensively until help arrives. Just because someone throws a punch at your face doesn’t mean you’re required to take it in the face.
