NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course
The NRA Basic Pistol Course is an industry-leading curriculum designed to teach the basic knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for owing and using a pistol safely.
Generally 0900 – 1600 for the classroom portion + 1-2 hours for private range instruction (Scheduled separately)
Classroom: 3925 Chain Bridge Rd #402, Fairfax, VA 22030
Range: Sharpshooters’ Small Arms Range, Lorton, VA (Scheduled with instructor on day of class, alternate locations convenient to the student are acceptable)
All course materials, NRA Basic Pistol Handbook, holster selection pamphlet, safety pamphlet and more are included in tuition. Students need not own or bring a pistol to take the course but are welcome to if they choose. Instructor will provide a variety of revolvers and automatics for the students to use and evaluate.
Certificate awarded upon completion of the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course fulfills “Proof of Competency” requirement for Concealed Handgun Carry Permit (CHCP) application in Virginia and many other states.
NRA FIRST Steps Pistol Course
The NRA FIRST (Firearms Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training) is the fastest way to get familiarized with your firearm, learn to safely and effectively use and maintain it and get some quality, private range instruction. This course can be done in the comfort of your own home or in a location of your choosing.
This class is one-on-one with the instructor (instructor can accept additional people from the same family/group wishing to use the same firearm).
Generally this class is given by-appointment and takes approximately three hours. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a course.
All course materials, NRA Basic Pistol Handbook, holster selection pamphlet, safety pamphlet and more are included in tuition. The FIRST Steps course is firearm specific. Ideally the student will provide their own firearm but, in the event they don’t yet own one, the instructor will help the student select a pistol type to meet their needs and provide necessary equipment for the course.
